Scribendi

From August 2024 to June 2025 I had the privileged of working on the thirty ninth edition of Scribendi, an annual literature magazine. This served as my first real introduction to working with InDesign and the greater Adobe Suite.

All artwork and stories belong to their rightful owners. Excerpt pages serve to showcase the design of the magazine. For more information about the individual artists and writers see the link above.

Inspired by a scrapbooks, smash journals, junk journals, and the imperfections that make art wonderful, Volume 39 took the ideas of everyday mess to create something new.
As a member of the design committee, I was one of seven members who created the direction the design would take. Over a two week span, we created the blueprint that would become the volume 39 we see now.

The edition went on to win the 2025 Pacemaker award. The national award recognizes excellence in design, contents, and overall quality, and is a highly sought-after recognition.

While apart of the Scribendi staff I collaborated with my peers to redesign and update the Scribendi Media Kit. The objective was the elevate the design and template for future staff, as well as aligning it with Scribendi’s identity as a polished and well designed reputation.

The 2025 media kit was presented to increase the magazines recognition within the Western Regional Honors Council.
